Project Description

A 5500m² office-space, 1300m² retail space project as part of Christchurch city’s ongoing rebuild. Working closely with the client and the end tenant, Canterbury District Health Board, enabled accommodating specific needs.

Project Goals

Assessing the earthquake damaged building and establishing the best method of remediation in terms of cost-effectiveness and structural soundness.

Project Outcomes

Structure re-levelled in conjunction with specialist subcontractor Uretek utilising the ‘JOG Integrated Computer Grouting’ method. Construction completed October 2015.

Project Features

• Stripping the existing building back to structure, re-strengthing with additional structural steel and BRB braces.
• Additional floor area added to all four levels.
• Mix of precast concrete, ACP, aluminium joinery and curtain wall used in the envelope.
