Tāwharanui House

At the centre of the main building is a steel-framed structure with light gauge steel rafters, utilising the broad knowledge and expertise of DHC’s residential engineers. Single-storey timber-framed wings on either side are a hallmark of DHC’s craftsmanship. The garage features a hybrid of steel and timber construction, seamlessly connected to the main building by a sleek roofline. Enhancing the design further is the picturesque concrete pool, for which DHC provided the structural design and detailed engineering, ensuring a perfect balance of form and function.

DHC’s civil engineering team focused on stormwater management design, ensuring long-term sustainability and environmental care. We also designed the driveway to blend harmoniously with the site’s natural contours. Close collaboration between the civil and structural engineers, alongwith the architect, allowed for the delivery of solutions that supported both function and vision. The result is a home where engineering quietly enhancesthe beauty of its surroundings.
